“Nottingham Castle: People’s Palace and Beyond” – a talk by Dr. Richard Gaunt

December 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Richard Gaunt is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts at Nottingham University. His research interests have encompassed work on national political figures such as Sir Robert Peel, the Duke of Wellington and Benjamin Disraeli as well as individuals with a strong Nottinghamshire connection, such as the 4th Duke of Newcastle (of Clumber Park) and William Edward and Godfrey Tallents (solicitors, land stewards and political agents of Newark). We are pleased to welcome him back to NALHS; he first spoke to us about the centenary of William Gladstone, and tonight he is speaking about Nottingham Castle.
